Watchfield & Shrivenham ward Councillors Simon Howell and Elaine Ware welcomed funding for a sports pavilion in Shrivenham following the meeting of the Vale of White Horse District Council held on Wednesday 10 February the release of funding for a sports pavilion in Shrivenham was approved. This funding of £378,537.80 was generated over a 6 year period from a number of developers who have or are in the process of constructing almost 900 homes in the village.
Cllr Ware said “These contributions were agreed as part of the planning process along with the Parish Council working closely with Local District Councillors and Vale officers. With the expansion of the village it is essential that amenities continue to grow and keep pace with the increasing number of residents”
Cllr Simon Howell, who is also Leader of the Opposition at Vale of the White Horse District Council added “The members of Shrivenham Parish Council and local residents will be delighted that the funding has been approved and will be looking forward to the construction work commencing in the spring”.
