Oxford East Conservatives have selected Louise Brown as their parliamentary candidate. Louise started her career in commercial property and then became a teacher. She has been bringing communities together for several years through education and community activism and has lived and worked in Oxfordshire for over 20 years.
Speaking after her selection, Louise Brown said: “I’m honoured and delighted to have been selected and hope that residents can put their trust in me. I want to be an MP who will deliver results and stand up to Labour in Oxford. The residents and businesses of Oxford East have not been listened to for far too long. I will make sure their voices are heard, their hard work is rewarded, and that this vibrant community is truly supported and celebrated. I have had the pleasure of meeting some extraordinary young people in my time as local school Governor and through many collaborative projects with local schools, and understand only too well the needs of businesses through my many years as a surveyor in Oxford.”
Local Conservative Chairman Mark Bhagwandin said: "Louise is an outstanding candidate —a fantastic local campaigner with a proven track record of working hard for residents. Citizens of Oxford need a strong and effective voice in the city because they are frustrated and fed up with the Labour leadership. They are saddled with extremely high council tax and the implementation of transport measures which makes life really difficult for them. We look forward to working with Louise as we hold Labour accountable for their failures and present a fresh vision that unlocks Oxford's true potential as a world-class city."
