CONSERVATIVES WORKING FOR YOU IN SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE
Across South Oxfordshire, Conservatives are working together to support residents and businesses to make this district an even better place to live.
Whether it’s your MP, John Howell, or your elected councillors at Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council, we all live here, alongside you, and work hard to contribute to our communities. Like you - our neighbours - we want good, dependable public services, homes we can afford, a prosperous economy, and a flourishing natural environment.
South Oxfordshire Conservative Association is central to this: it’s SOCA which runs the party in the Henley constituency: selecting candidates for election, coordinating campaigns and raising money to fight them. SOCA is made up of like-minded people from all walks of life who support the policies and views of the Conservative Party. We welcome new members and supporters of all ages, and would be delighted if you want to get involved.
Every successful campaign requires a team of passionate people. That’s why we rely on people like you to lend us a pair of hands. There is no age limit, and you don’t have to have experience to help us out: we"ll be more than happy to show you the ropes. You choose how much time you're willing to volunteer and what jobs you are comfortable doing.
There are many ways to get involved. We need people to help with various campaign-related jobs - leafleting, canvassing, envelope-stuffing, providing transport for the elderly and immobile on election day. And there’s plenty to do outside election-time: from regular campaigning and canvassing sessions to fund-raising events large and small. And there are opportunities for political discussion through our Conservative Policy Forum and other events in the Constituency.
Of course we also welcome members who simply want to support the Conservative Party by giving a subscription.
And over time you may decide you, too, want to put yourself forward for election - whether for local council or even for Parliament - and we’d be happy to discuss with you how you might make that happen.
