Ian is currently the chairman of the South Oxfordshire District Council planning committee as well as an officer of the Wantage and Didcot Conservative association. Having been born locally and brought up in Didcot West division, Ian can really call himself a local councillor. Ian attended Northbourne primary school before going to St. Birinus secondary, where he became a keen sportsman. He representing England at bowls and is now a keen golfer.
Ian is married with 2 daughters who both attended local schools, He and his wife Michelle opened their own business in 1997. While Ian now spends more of his time in his role as councillor, Michelle still runs the busy shop.
Ian has always stood up for the residents of Didcot first and foremost, promising to protect Didcot’s remaining open green spaces. Other key issues for Ian are the protection of trees in the town and delivering all the vital infrastructure which Didcot so desperately needs, most importantly health facilities.
Ian is a passionate volunteer, including Great Western Park Covid-19 community response and helping out with the vaccination rollout in Didcot. He is also a great supporter of local charities and good causes, and sits on committees like Didcot Volunteer Drivers.
Ian’s hard-working attitude and ability to get things done has made him a very popular councillor in a short time, and he is always willing to help in person as well as keeping residents informed with facts and details.
